    GECAS pide 53 737-800s y 2 two 777-300ERs

GECAS orders 53 737-800s, two 777-300ERs valued at $4.5 billion
Friday December 14, 2007 GE Commercial Aviation Services yesterday announced that it has ordered 53 737-800s and two 777-300ERs collectively valued at $4.5 billion.

The massive order includes an exercise of existing options and was listed last week by Boeing as placed by an unidentified customer. "This additional order with Boeing will allow GECAS to help our customers around the world benefit from. . .leading-edge operational efficiency," President and CEO Henry Hubschman said.

"GECAS, already the world's largest owner of 737s, continues to add to its portfolio with 309 total Next Generation 737 orders," Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Scott Carson said. He noted that the manufacturer has received 129 orders for 777s so far in 2007.

GECAS has a fleet of 1,450 owned aircraft that it leases to more than 230 airlines in some 70 countries, and it manages nearly 300 additional aircraft owned by others.
